cultural economics, the visual art market
Ing. Jana Horová is a researcher at Palacký University Olomouc and, at the same time, an academic staff member and doctoral candidate at the Faculty of Business Administration of the Prague University of Economics and Business, where she previously completed both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Arts Management.
Her academic research and professional practice have long focused on cultural economics, the dynamics of the visual art market, and the behaviour of its key actors, particularly private and public art collectors. Her research interests also include the operational and managerial models of museums and galleries, audience engagement, and forms of cooperation between the public and private sectors. A substantial part of her research and teaching is also devoted to sustainability in the cultural and creative sectors. During her doctoral studies, she expanded her expertise through research stays at the Vienna University of Economics and Business and Jagiellonian University in Kraków, and she regularly participates in major international academic conferences. She combines her academic work with direct professional experience in the cultural sector, where she is involved in strategic and artistic consultancy as well as the production of cultural projects. In her teaching, she places particular emphasis on practical application and on direct collaboration between students and professionals from the cultural sector.
